What does the program involve?
The program is a 3-month (for those 18yrs and older) or 1-month (17yrs and under) strength, power lifting and movement efficiency program run over the off-season.
It consists of a generalised strength and technique development phase, followed by position-specific training.
Athletes of all levels will have the opportunity to participate in a program designed to cater for elite level rugby players.
Programs are designed by elite strength coaches and administered by UWA Sport Scientists and Strength and Conditioning Coaches.
Coaches will manage small groups of athletes, and will be able to tailor specific strength and conditioning programs to an individual’s positional requirements and performance needs.
Benefits to the athlete
This is an exciting opportunity for rugby players to participate in a program to improve athletic performance and to be taught correct weight lifting practices.
Size, strength, power and movement efficiency are vital for success in rugby union. This program will provide you with the opportunity to become the best athlete you can be.
